This month, In the Spotlight heads to Peoria, Illinois to check in with Cindy Wilfong, General Manager at Titan Fitness.
Tell us a little about Titan Fitness, Cindy?
We opened in 2015, so we’re still relatively young compared to a lot of clubs – but we’ve grown quickly in that time. Our focus is very much on helping members live a healthy, fit life whatever their life stage. So that means giving them the amenities, cardio equipment and specialist fitness content to help them grow and stay committed. We have a full strength gym, functional training zone, group fitness and small group training as well as an on-demand fitness studio, on-site nutrition, personal training services, a smoothie bar, salon and childcare. Everything you need to focus, learn and grow toward your goals.
How did you decide to bring FitnessOnDemand to your club and members?
We are a 24/7 facility so we knew we wanted to bring round-the-clock fitness content to members whenever they wanted or needed it. Our team did the research, compared content partners and selected FitnessOnDemand. It’s become a very successful selling tool for us to encourage members to upgrade to our Silver level membership and gain FOD access beyond our live instructor led group fitness classes.[pullquote]It’s become a very successful selling tool for us to encourage members to upgrade to our Silver level membership and gain FOD access beyond our live instructor led group fitness classes.[/pullquote]I really like a lot of the new classes that have been added this year, which are really rounding out our program offerings.
What’s member reaction like? How are they using FitnessOnDemand?
Some of our members don’t necessarily want to take part in a live group class setting for a number of reasons. They don’t feel ready to perform with others in class, or aren’t technically confident yet.
FitnessOnDemand gives them the feeling and benefits of an instructor-led session and allows them to engage on their own schedule and terms. We’re also getting a lot of feedback that on-demand classes are augmenting what we’re providing with live instructor classes and helping us broaden our class formats so it’s a great fit. And then, of course, we’re also seeing members who are done with their weights sessions or lifting routines using some of the focused, gentle stretch content to finish their workouts.
What’s Next for Titan Fitness?
Our first job is to continue giving members what they love: an encouraging and friendly staff, clean, supportive environment and well maintained and regularly updated equipment and content for them to meet all their healthy, active lifestyle needs. But we’re also growing and looking at other locations in our area for expanding the brand and the experience to other communities. Watch this space for more news.
