The FitnessOnDemand team was on the ground in San Diego last week (a tough job but someone has to do it) for IHRSA 2023. Among the hubbub of almost 6,000 attendees and 300 fellow exhibitors we got the chance to catch up with the who’s who of fitness content creation and spot a few trends that were the talk of the show.
Content connections
FitnessOnDemand partners with more than 50 world class fitness content creators and boutique brands to build our curated library of more than 1,000 videos. It’s impossible to name every one of our content partners we ran into in San Diego but we reconnected with some long-time friends and brand new collaborators to hear their plans for new workouts and classes. Check out some quick snippets of their amazing content for your club portfolios here:
- FITSCOPE – motivational cardio-equipment-based and instructor-led workouts for members to stream anywhere in the club and get the most out of your rowing machines, ellipticals, bikes and treadmills.
- INTELLIGENT CYCLING – send members on a journey from dance clubs to safaris and foreign worlds with these stunningly-visual cycling workouts.
- POWER MUSIC – heart-pumping pre-mixed and highly motivational workout tracks for every member’s mood and energy level.
- PHYSIQUE 57 – one of our newest partners, Physique 57 brings a wide range of high-energy dance, toning and sculpting classes to every member from pre-natal to Pilates pro.

AI is coming
You couldn’t start a conversation at IHRSA without someone mentioning automation and AI.
There was a lot of buzz at the show about AI-driven efficiencies and the ability to better track and instantly analyze data on everything from member preferences to the most popular live classes and on-demand workout content. All of this spells great things for clubs: the automation of tedious, manual tasks and real time intelligence at our fingertips to make decisions that improve member experience and club efficiencies.
Hybrid fitness is history
Not the concept, of course. Just the most over-used phrase in fitness from 2020-2021. Everyone is focused now on empowering members how – and exactly where – they choose to work out. Our team fielded a lot of integration questions from national chain clubs to small, specialty boutiques about our integrated on-demand and streaming platform that levels the fitness experience for members from the club to home or on the go.
Wellness and recovery fitness will be even bigger
You’ve likely seen this too. The huge pendulum swing over the past couple of years from strict fitness-only activities and member motivation to a widespread interest in overall wellness. Club operators were all talking at IHRSA about the expansion of wellness offerings: more multi-use spaces for stretch and recovery to ensure members stay strong after class and workouts; on-site PT; and ways to add more mental-health and stress-management tools for members.
